SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING, MARCH 8, 2012
A special meeting of the town Board of the Town of Marshall, County of Oneida and the State of New York was held at the Town Hall, 2651 State Rte. 12B, Deansboro, NY on the 8th day of March 2012.
PRESENT: Nelson A. Blau Supervisor
Gary R. Ford Councilman
Susan McConnell Councilwoman
Sean McNamara Councilman
Nancy Matteson Town Clerk
PRESENT: Darin Checchia and Richard Smith from Adjusters International/Basloe, Levin & Cuccaro, Ltd.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Blau at 7:00 P.M.
Adjusters International/Basloe, Levin & Cuccaro, Ltd. feels that if the Town hires them to represent the Town's interest, they will be able to financially benefit the Town.
RESOLUTION #19
PUBLIC ADJUSTER
On a motion by Councilman Schachtler, seconded by Councilman McNamara the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 4 Ford, McConnell, McNamara, Schachtler
Nays 0
RESOLVED that the Town of Marshall will hire Adjusters International/Basloe,Levin & Cuccaro Ltd. for 10% of recovery over initial $490,889.00. The proposal would only be relative to recoveries under the Building and Ordinance & Law Coverage.
Adjusters International feels that the insurance company will typically pay if you can justify your claim.
Supervisor Blau reported to the Town Board that a mistake has been made in the plans for the new town barn. According to codes there needs to be two restrooms in the plans. The Town can ask for a variance or change the plans to include another restroom. The direction of the Board was to go with two restrooms at the insurance company's expense.
On a motion by Councilman Schachtler, seconded by Councilman Ford the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 P.M. Carries Unanimously.
